Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) FAQ
What is Wayport’s Acceptable Use Policy?

to view our Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) in full.
What restrictions apply to my internet connection when using Wayport’s services?
While very few types of traffic are restricted outright, some activities can result in suspension of service. Sending spam e-mail, propagating viruses, and using excessive bandwidth (file sharing programs, P2P, and other high volume downloads), knowingly or not, will not be allowed. It is recommended that you consult the
Acceptable Use Policy
for details.
What are some of the P2P programs that are prohibited when on Wayport’s network?
Wayport does not inherently block any P2P programs. However, if these programs are not configured with any speed restraints (typically less than 40KB upstream and downstream) your connection may be suspended.
Does my Wayport membership cover multiple devices?
In accordance with our AUP, each Wayport Membership allows connections from up to 3 different MAC addresses per month. If that limit is exceeded, the account may be suspended until a Wayport representative is contacted for resolution.
How does Wayport respond to the spread of Internet viruses?
If a user is discovered to be spreading worms, viruses, or other malicious Internet traffic, knowingly or not, their connection will be terminated until they are able to have their system cleaned. This action is to prevent that user from infecting or adversely affecting other users on the network.
What do I do if my service gets suspended?
In the event that your service is suspended, please contact Wayport Technical Support at
877 WAYPORT
. Have any information regarding the activities you were engaged in at the time of suspension ready, and an agent will discuss your options with you.
